If in fact you had freewill in heaven then you could sin, since we are not perfect beings (which also means our souls are not perfect), so therefore you could be constantly seeing a line of people getting evicted from heaven and going to the hell express.
Or does God wipe your mind clean and make everyone as zombies? I am going with you all become zombies since if you had freewill, you would also spend eternity thinking of those family members and friends who are burning in hell. That would be an eternity of mental hell that you would have to endure, which would put you in your own hell.
I am going for the zombie thing, because God could not take that chance and with freewill and freethought heaven would be depresing and sad because of those who did not make it, God would be inundated with his form # G00013, the get out of hell card, which he would have to form a sub-committee which would have religious leaders on it, so you know they can be bought.
Yeah zombies makes sense.

Catholic Crusdaer: Is it that you can not answer the question and so therefore need to pull out the feel sorry for Christians card? It is amazing that Christians do not like it when you are given a taste of your own medicine. Why is that? You have shoved your morals and beliefs down peoples throats for millenia, and now you are being stood up to. So stick to your religion for all I care, but do not be afraid to answer a question and quit trying to pull the feel sorry for poor downtrodden Christian card, since Christians have been among the worst offenders throughout history of abuse of people and murder and rape, etc. Get off your high horse and buck up.

Swindled: So you get to heaven, God wipes away the ability to do evil, but then you still call that freewill? You have only one choice, which is not allowing you to have any choices, when NO FREEWILL.

Good question, I am going for zombies, since God could not afford to have people who think for themselves walking around heaven. They may think that he is a jerk or something like that. It is easy right now because people all have that notion (if they are theists) that God is all that and them some, but hey might meet him are realize he is a jerk. Just like when you have such high expectations for something and you are always let down when it happens. I think that most Christians will want to go to hell after meeting their God. So I go for the position that Christians will be no different than now when it comes to God, they will be zombies.

Well, according to the bible there will be a 1000 year reign on earth where freewill will still be intact as satan will still be able to garner his new recruits. After that will come the final or lake judgement where all who used their freewill to change sides will join satan in the lake of fire for eternity. If I have to give up freewill to be on the correct side so be it. At least I will not remember freewill and will be with God, who made me. No, really..I hope my freewill would be strong enough to continue to do what was right.

I additionally am bowled over at what you have drawn -- seems a tremendously harmless question to me. I do agree that we (I) could have some tremendously deep regrets for the time we've wasted, and that it will not be lasting sense sorry approximately. individually, and that's a mundane point of view that i'm hoping to strengthen out of, suitable now i'm extra apprehensive approximately embarrassment if/while my sins are enumerated. Yeah, that's gonna suck. Btw, Rev. 21:4 is relating the hot Jerusalem, what I comprehend to be an emblem for Heaven (b/c ALL Revelation is symbolic), and subsequently isn't a mundane element. additionally, in connection with the C.S. Lewis submit, i decide to propose examining (in case you have not already -- I even have it and study it each now and returned) the large Divorce. alongside with Mere Christianity, that's considered one of my favorites of his. Have a large day!

Why are Christians the target of these antagonistic posts? I don't care what you say, I have been watching the questions here for quite a long time, and at least over 90% of anti-religious questions are aimed at Christians. Why is that? Why don't you include Jews, Muslims, or Hindus in this question? Well, I know one big reason why: Because Institutions of Higher Learning (what a joke!) have systematically attacked Christianity and indoctrinated their minds-full-of-mush students into believing this garbage. Most of you attackers come out of a post-christian cultural situation in which blaming Christiasnity for everything is acceptable and politically correct. In fact, bigotry against Christians (and especially Catholic Christians) is one of the last acceptable prejudices in America. If you insult a homosexual or a Muslim you have commited a hate crime. Insult a Christian and you're a hero at UC Berkeley. These attacks are better proof than any other proof I know of that Christanity is the true religion: Why else would the world attack it so hard?

You don't get it at ALL. What good would 'wiping' our minds do? We are chosen for Heaven BECAUSE of our freewill choice to turn FROM sin. Success is not material now. That comes later. Do you remember your absolute favorite toy when you were a kid? Do you still miss it? Now apply that analogy to the people who don't make the cut.

God will wipe away all tears in heaven. And evil and temptations will not exist. So, I myself am hoping that He will also wipe away all traces of memory of things I want to forget. Things I did that I am ashamed of, family who didn't go to heaven, and all bad thoughts, etc. If you call living like that and spending my time worshipping God being a zombie, I would be fine with it.

whatever.

"Freewill" really isn't free...Jesus paid a dear price for it in the Garden of Gethsemane. As do we when we make any choice. There are consequences for all that we do...good or bad.

And no, it will not be present in heaven. Agency, or as you call it, "freewill" is a part of mortality and our test here on earth.

Once we die and go to heaven there is no need for "freewill"

You have a pretty good point. I always did wonder if in heaven you can sin. I mean just cause you didnt sin on earth that doesnt mean you wont in heaven. And yes it would suck to think of those who you loved that arent there. So hopefully thats the case.

Well, to be in Heaven in the first place requires that ALL our sins are washed away by the blood of Christ. But anyway, I wouldn't want to disobey the One who loves me so much that He died in my place. I'll sing His praises joyfully, gratefully, and forever!

But I will admit, zombies can be fun. Have you seen "Zombies of the Stratosphere"?

God bless you!

It is stated that in heaven all of the elements (rudiments of evil) will be melted away . Other than that free will abounds. Free will is a necessary part of love. You can't have one without the other. God once said , " I don't want your burnt offerings , I want your love".
