Just leave Vista on it. Unless you have experience, installing an OS can be very hard. You not only need the install disk but you need a product key that hasn't been activated on another PC and you need XP drivers for that PC's hardware (chipset, video, audio, ethernet, wireless, etc.) Plus, if you call Lenovo for support, they may refuse to help you unless you put Vista back on. Just research ways to speed up Vista. Vista isn't garbage. It's just different and close-minded people don't like change.

Yo can do it like that, you need to clean install XP.
