Hello, I was born on a Military base in Germany - (I live in USA) and the military base is now closed. I changed my first name (legally) and need to change my birth certificate. Because I am considered an "international abroad" birth - anyone know how to go about changing my birth certificate? Someone told me to contact the Department of State, but I see no information on their website about this. Any advise would be appreciated.

Here's the address for your official birth certificate issued by the State Department. You should provide them a copy of your military birth certificate and a check or money order in the amount of $30 made out to the U.S. Treasury:
Vital Records Section
Passport Services
1111 19th St. NW
Suite 510
Washington, DC 20522-1705
