Your relatives live on, and if you are lucky, you live on in their minds for a time. Come to think of it, you have to be egotistical to want to live on in their minds, don't you, or selfish?

I. The Particular Judgment (from the Catechism Of The Catholic Church):
1021
Death puts an end to human life as the time open to either accepting or rejecting the divine grace manifested in Christ. The New Testament speaks of judgment primarily in its aspect of the final encounter with Christ in his second coming, but also repeatedly affirms that each will be rewarded immediately after death in accordance with his works and faith. The parable of the poor man Lazarus and the words of Christ on the cross to the good thief, as well as other New Testament texts speak of a final destiny of the soul—a destiny which can be different for some and for others.
1022
Each man receives his eternal retribution in his immortal soul at the very moment of his death, in a particular judgment that refers his life to Christ: either entrance into the blessedness of heaven—through a purification or immediately,—or immediate and everlasting damnation.

As a Believer in Christ!
The Apostle Paul WANTED to Check-Out, but he Decided to Stay Down Here to HELP OTHERS!
Nobody in their "Right Spiritual Mind" After FEELING That kind of Love and Peace---Wants to Really Stay Down Here (on the Earth), Except to Finish the Work JESUS Gave them to do!
(and make sure all of their Family and Friends so on, are Saved too!)
Hope this Helps!

Nothing. It is the same as before you were born. All living things have the same life and death situation. This includes plants as well as horses, dogs, elephants, etc. What happens to a plant when it dies? Hopefully it has left seed. What happens to a horse? Hopefully it has left seed. It is the same with you.

All of your relatives get together for a party.
They call it a wake.
Then, before they get to go home, they bury your body.

No one knows. Why don't you try and find out?
Don't want to do that research? Most people don't.
Now as far as what I BELIEVE happens:
Nothing.
