I have to pick some people up from this airport on Tuesday at 1pm. We want to go up earlier and watch the planes. Because of the new restrictions at airports I was wondering if there is somewhere nearbye we can park up and observe the aircraft. We do have binoculars!!!!!

There is a fantastic observation lounge in the airport - although they do come across the A45 and you can see them from there. Not sure about parking though.

Coming along the A45 from sheldon towards coventry, BEFORE you get to the airport there is a signpost for "Cargo Area" - do a left, keep straight on and there are usually people there with binoculars plane-watching (up a flight of steps) - you get a damn good view from there but I`m not 100 per cent sure about parking - there is a car park that`s used by Caterers and such like but I`m not 100% sure if joe public are allowed to use it. Just check it out and have a look for yourselves.

Because of security restrictions At B'ham its not advisable to use the short stay car park. Sheldon country park is one idea, alternatively you can park at B'ham International Railway Station, ( all day £5) take the sky train into the airport (free) then go to the Aviation Experience ( between Sky train and departures, entrance £1, free if flying) This give you a viewing lounge, the arrival and departure screens, snacks, drinks and comfy seats. Loads of books and other aviation stuff available. If poss avoid half term as it can get rowdy with kids. Have a nice day...

If its a nice day, go to Sheldon Country Park, Ragley Drive - not far from Coventry Rd into airport. You need to park up and walk for 5 mins, keeping left, to the side of the runway and its a great spot! It is very popular with plane spotters, and has benches etc, so you can stay a while. Have fun!

Get there early. Park in the short stay. Walk over the road to the observation lounge where there are usually some people with radios listening to the pilots. You can see them going off and coming in. Take your binoculars too. you could have a little lunch there too. Happy watching.

Usually, that is too long for me. I consider it depends on the guy and his face though. Certain guys can easily pull off long hair and other folks can't.

I have pretty very long hair, I like them but I think I would have them cut short in about some two many years
