If you are talking about with a teenager, I do believe they DO need their space and privacy from time to time, but I know when I was teenager I needed someone to go digging through my room and find things they werent supposed to find if ya get my drift. Privacy but not too much where you have no idea whats going on in their lives.

Privacy is a right. In today's day and age, I believe it's important even to the extent of maintaining good mental health and keeping your stress levels at bay. A person cannot live comfortably without privacy and will probably grow to resent those who took it away from them.
