there's nothing wrong with an atheist loving a theist. different worldviews, while not compatibale, happen all the time between couples. so what the problem is?

Yeah. I'm gay, and I've actually dated guys who still cling to Christianity, even though most of its brands are avowedly against our "lifestyle." And I understand that - it's hard for anybody to get over his religious brainwashing, even when the religious "authorities" are telling him that he's an abomination unto God. For me, personally, I feel like being gay, and knowing that its not a "choice" on my part, and knowing that there's nothing wrong with me, really helped to drive home the hypocrisy of the Christian attitude towards sex in general. But other people internalize that hypocrisy and become their own worst enemies...the "Christian Right" furnishes us with fresh examples of this practically daily.

I would not allow myself to NOT love someone because of her beliefs in God. The question is, could they accept me? I have never and would never push my non-beliefs or reasons for them on anyone but I know how many view Atheism.
