if you want to believe something, then believe it. but don't pretend that that it has any basis in reality when there is no evidence to support that view.

Because they have been brainwashed to be that way. They can't form their own theories or opinions without feeling like they are betraying someone.

Most Christians believe in a doctrine that man invented to justify his positions. The Bible was largely constructed from books that supported Constantin's rule. Many valid texts were omitted.

Ultimately, religions teach their followers to believe what someone else says and not think for themselves.

I am a Christian and believe in a higher power, but I don't believe the self-serving dogma injected into religion over the last 7,000-plus years.

God gave us a brain and the ability to reason. Use it.

WHY are "you" so closed minded is what I'd like to know?

You probably don't believe that we have a "global warming" problem either.......right. Not enough evidence for you???

Look you believe in what ever the hell you want to ok. I happen to believe there is a God, a Heaven and all that. God didn't make us puppets He gave every single human being "free choice".

But it would be nice if you could open up your eyes, ears and heart and stop being so negative. Believe what you want your entitled too!

SOOOO, how closed minded does that sound to you hmmmm

They were brain washed from a young age. I know, because I have had personal experience.

I use to be a closed minded christian (honestly I am not making it up), but then I woke up to the truth.

Before I woke up I would taunt atheist and agnostics. I could not see how they could not believe.

I would not have been a christian if I was not raised a christian. I could have been Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, or even a bat worshiper. It was just pure circumstance that I was raised a christian.

When you repeat something as truth over and over again to a child, it can carry over as an adult. Its really ingrained into the subconscious. As I see it now, its child abuse. You should not teach children known false hoods. Religion is a disease, that I by chance got better from

the spirit of sin that dwells in you that has been able to blind your eyes should be truth enough. But if you want more truths start talking about Satan's secret society and how they use witch craft to seduce and force people into there secret society. They trick and seduce people into playing occult games and practices witch allows them into being placed into bondage to witch craft. The New World Order! The mark of the Beast is a spiritual mark placed on the hand and the forehead after going through there secret ceremony of transcendental meditation assisted with witchcraft. Watch out for there mind control/ mind meld. amongst other things.

I actually do not agree on this topic. I mean, some people fake Christianity "I've been touched by God!" Just to fit in. But when saying "Christians are close-minded", your just stereo-typing. I am a christian but I'm not close minded I'm actually very open and I respect other cultures and religions. I do agree that Some people are close minded in religions and they think that they are born into a religion their mother and father have decided. Not all Christians or close-minded let me tell you that. I do believe in a God that you cannot see. I have FAITH, now I'm not going to get into a huge argument but that's my opinion.

Not that I disagree with you.... but compared to what?
One religion I know likes to preach that "it takes 2 to discuss and 3 to argue". They mean that an argument has someone telling one of the people that they are right. They dont even have to be there. Parents, teachers, priests, peers, tv, internet, whatever. Two would discuss but an argument breaks out when one is told that they are part of a "we" group in that belief.

Personally, I dont see a difference between the way that christians do it, or cult members, or even most atheists for that matter. They can all be equally closed minded and stupid in their arguments.

First off some Christians are closed minded others aren't t. Being closed minded or not is a choice, its like you are asking why are undercover agents are so secretive, anyone will say because they want to. Getting the point everything someone does is a choice or the way they act is also a choice.

True Christians are not closed minded. Christians follow the Bible. The Bible is God inspired scripture. In the Bible it says "We all fall short of the Glory of God" Not a select few. All we have to do is believe in Christ . The Bible does not say we have to go to church it suggests it. The whole new Testament is about acceptance. Proof, the Dead Sea Scrolls, The Shroud of Touren. Faith is believing in the invisible.

Christians, Roman Catholics, Pagans, Wiccans and the list goes on... whatever one chooses to call themselves based on their personal belief system they are by no means a representative of an entire faith walk.
Speaking as someone who is open minded, if I am met with defensiveness or by someone who believes that their opinion of the only one out there, they may not like the way I react. I would suggest that you have your beliefs, and they have theirs.. my father always told me there are a few things you don't discuss- politics, how much you make and religion with just anyone... pick your conversation mates wisely

Everyone is close-minded, but I must agree that many Christians are. It may simply be the way their religon is structured and that there are so many of them it seems that making a generalization about those of that religion seem rational.
