Hmm, so many dumb questions.
I suppose my favorite must be "why do women get tattoos?" followed up with some remark that makes women out to be purely for the enjoyment of men & how tattoos "ruin" their bodies.
Dunno, but if I wanted a pet I'd go to the pet store. I want a smart woman who can challenge me and a close friend I can confide - in addition to the more prurient activities. :)
I suppose those people (mostly men, but not always) are just insecure about their manhood and need to prop up their failing egos. I suppose I could also feel pity for them...
Addendum: Note that these are not the same people who are honestly curious & without the implication of women as second class citizens, although the stupid queries outnumber the honest ones by a large margin.

I was 60 years old when I got my first tattoo. and the question that drives me nuts is Why at your age did you get a tattoo? My answer for them is because I can.. I had always wanted one but had a husband that said no way.. well divorced his butt and said oh yes I can and will.. I got a beautiful butterfly landing on a vine. It's on my shoulder blade and looks really good.

The dumbest question I have been asked is, Why did you get it somewhere that people can't see it in the winter time?
I think that is the dumbest...
My mom asked me why I got one when I know (I'm a preachers kid) that they bible says not to get any markings on your body.

so this is my stupid tattoo story: i was in a pub getting a drink with friends, i walked up to the bar to buy another round and this asshole asks me "what does your tattoo mean?" this guy was obviously drunk and i didn't feel like talking to him, so i just said "its just something that i wanted" he then comes back with "why do these bitches get a tattoo if they don't feel like explaining it to people?" that's when i walked away.
what in the world would make this guy think that it is my duty to explain my private thinking process to him? i got my tattoo for me, and i don't owe anyone any explanations.

So I live in Idaho and I go to Boise State University, where the mascot is a bronco.
I get this question constantly: "Are you like a HUGE bronco's fan or something?"
This is my tattoo: http://shadow0fthemoon.deviantart.com/art/My-Horse-61997328
I got it in memory of my niece, designed it myself, and it has her name hidden in the design. I know they don't know all of this, but it still irks me a LOT. I can see how it's similar to the bronco's design, but it is NOT the same.
Just pisses me off is all.

Did it hurt? The most stupidest question was what if I didn't like it is there a way to erase it...like a tattoo eraser? NO! Leave me and my tattoo's alone!

Did it hurt?...I'm not going to lie and say that it didn't. But it didn't hurt bad enough for my not to complete it or get my next one. -Or- my friend said it hurts on the forarm or neck badly?...Mine didn't at all.
Everyone's pain tolorance for tattoos are different and even on different areas on the body. My tattoo on my right forarm didn't hurt one bit, now my tattoo on my left forarm did hurt. This is because I'm right handed and don't use my left often, so my tendants aren't as loose (you might as well say).
