xray takes pictures of bones, mri takes pictures of all the insides, organs included.

An X-ray shows a flat plain image of the body part. But the MRI (Magnetic Resonance Image) can show the image in all the different directions (3D model) with so much of the details.

Xray uses radiation to take a single view, much like a camera takes a single view. A Cat scan take multiple pictures from different angles, the a computer take the multiple pictures and makes a 3 dimensional image. A MRI uses magnetism to take the picture instead of xrays.

MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) uses magnetic fields to show the structures inside the patient's body however X-ray imagings such as CT-sacanning use X ray for imaging-a type of light with very higher frequency

Michelle is right. An xray only allows us to view the bones. An MRI is kind of a last resort. It shows all of your muscles, ligaments, and organs. It will also display if someone is internally bleeding or not. It's like going inside your body without cutting you open. It's very amazing. Also, it can scan the inside of your brain, and xray only shows you the bone structure of your skull.

An MRI uses magnetic imaging and an X-Ray uses it's name X-Ray, ray for radiology.

x-ray just shows basic bone structure...shows if bones are where they should be (like intact...not broken or deformed in any way).

MRI very complex and sophisticated diagnostic tool used to diagnose all kinds of problems or show that every little single tiny thing looks just fine. Takes pictures in wee-tiny "slices" of everything the camera is aimed at (part of the body: hand, brain, neck....).

MRI doesn't use X-rays, A tomography does though. Magnetic resonance uses magnetism and sound to create images.

X ray sees the bones. MRI sees the tissues, nerves and vessels... I am not an expert though
