There is not God! Buddha is not a God, or a religious symbol. It's a way of life. I don't follow really any but I have been learning up on Buddha and I agree with a lot of things.
Kids shouldn't have to be forced to learn religion. It should be their choice when they are old enough to make the decision. They have enough on their plate. I think it's unfair to children that are forced feed religion because when they hit middle school age they start to learn the scientific aspect of things and it becomes confusing.

You ask why God can not unite all religions, then you go on to say why doesn't some rich man build a big temple where all religions can worship in their own and individual way. Perhaps if man will build such a temple, then God, perhaps Allah, perhaps Buddha will indeed unite the religions. Until mankind can all accept a higher being than themselves, there will probably be little unity at all. God, by whatever name, does not come to you; you must go to Him.

In the given circumstances, how best you live your life is the question. If there were to be only one religion, then there would be sects and sub sects. God made the humans with ramifying tendencies as their inherent nature.
Just as there cannot be a clap without having two palms, if there to be more than one human being, there will be a clash or difference of opinion.
God has created so many human beings on this earth. How do you expect a perfect harmony and peace?
The world might have been there for several billions, trillions of years and may exist for more than that from now on.
But, a person's concern with the world is at best for 100 years. Neither before nor after has he any concern for it. It may as well be non-existent for him. The case is the same with you and me too. So he has to make the best out of those limited number of years.
We have to live our life to the full, in a purposeful manner, without any disregard for another being. And, that's what He expects from you. It is not as though Allah creates Muslims, Yehova creates Christians, Hindu Gods create Hindus etc. Even a person with a little bit of stuff in his brains would know this, but he acts differently in life and in his environment.

I really can't see this working. There are two many differences between them. The closest you will get to that is the Freemasons, whose members have to believe in one God, doesn't matter which. Although it's a rather dodgy group if you look into the higher up levels!
How can you have a group who believe that their belief is the only way to God worshiping with another group who believe the same thing (but in different ways). How can that ever work?
I have met Christians and Muslims alike who are familiar with each other religious books, so I do not think that they are stopped from being knowledgable of other religions.

"the world is given over unto darkness"
This is a common theme of many religions. But most people assume this is bad and something which good people must work against.
Good people should always help the ones directly around us. But the world will not change and should not change. The adversity allows good people the opportunity to learn and grow. Only in contention or in diversity or in conflict is there life.
Eastern philosophy does a better job of explaining this in the descriptions of Yin and Yang. I doubt googling yin and yang will provide good information, however. The study of why yin and yang are tied together. Why good needs evil is just as involved and complicated as philosophy gets.

I hope and pray that no one 'falls' for this, because it is spoken of very clearly in the Bible (Book of Revelation). That one day the world with be duped into joining a One World Religion and Government.
There is Only One God, One Truth, and One Messiah (the LORD God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). His Word says "There are no others, do not follow false teachings, and do not pray to idols."

How old are you? Its call ignorance from all the people around the world. Religion is not the problem, its just the excuse that its the problem. It all boils down to power, and religion is stuck in there. "god" did not make different religions, people made different religions...think about it.

If you read the Bible, you will find that there is only one God, the one true God and Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
In the ten commandments, it is written that there is to be no graven images made of God.

If God take back free will He can unite all religion within a second. But, what is required is purity not unity. Unity of truth and evil is evil in full. If you bring cup of clean water, a cup of cow urine and a cup of liquor and mix all together, I won't drink it. Evil and devil is reality. Specificaly semitic religions (Islam, chrsitianity and judaism) are exclusive (mean if one is right rest all are wrong)

Although God can make things happen, He does not do force everyone to be united because it interferes with free will.
