Definitely.
That's called "faith", the ardent hope in something that shows no reason nor evidence of itself, you and I seem to know quite a bit about that, having been religious at one time.

That's a good question. But hope, like love, needs no reasons. There would be times in life when there are absolutely no reason to be happy. Some have the unenviable luck of having every bad thing happen to them. But there is nothing, no reason whatsoever, for anybody, under any circumstances, to give up hope.
Hope is that spark in us that keeps us alive. Every once in a while you will see the question "isn't life so absurd since it will always end in death?", "what is it all for?", "what is the meaning of life?" For many, it is hope that give meaning to their lives. Hope needs no reason, it is the reason for everything else.
There once was a basketball team in the Philippines which was known for fighting no matter how bad the odds are against them. Its an attitude that has won them a multitude of fans even if they were never the most talented team on paper. The reason why they have fans is that people find it easy to identify themselves with them. There is nothing more inspiring than seeing someone down and out but still full of hope. And what reason is there to silence an inspiration?

Nothing should cloud your relationship with God. Hope and Love should bring you closer to God, not distract you from it. If so than either emotion has become an unhealthy one.

Probably not. Hope is a sort of diffused, passive emotion. Love, in my experience, makes you totally insane. Like comparing distilled water with high-octane jet fuel.

Many emotions can cloud your ability to reason. Depression can cause some people to become suicidal. Hate and anger can cause some to become homicidal.
Joy and happiness that a religion can bring can cause some to blow themselves up in a cafe.

i've never thought of love as 'cloudy'...if cold concrete reasoning is important to you, then by all means avoid love, hope, faith, joy, sorrow, happiness...all those messy irrational emotions...but what kind of life would you have without them?
i hope i don't offend by quoting my favorite bible verse-
'but now abide faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love'

I believe there are only two emotions.
When you think positive thoughts that are in in tune with your source, you have positive emotions..
And bad feelings when you're thoughts are not in alignment with your source

Not if it's hope of God because God wouldn't allow his hope to cloud the vision of his beloved children.
I don't know what that means either, but people will respond like this.
