i,ve bought a fruit tree [pear ]but ive just seen its needs a pollinator?

does that mean i should have two the same or what? thank you in advance .

You need a different variety. Pears apples, sweet cherries all need two varieties for pollination. The good news is that if there is a flowering pear nearby, a very common ornamental tree, you have your pollinator.
