hi i have a border collie/german shepard 7 year old dog. a couple days ago i noticed that his right eye kept squinting, and he kept whining. so we gave him some medicine. that was 2 days ago... is my dog sick or something else. we did just have a big cool front come through though. thnks...

my mom said that i could just be a
reaction to the cold fount
or maybe an infection but
Bear's a strong dog so don't worry

It sounds like there may be some irritation to either the eyelid or the eyeitself. I'd take the dog in and make sure there isn't a corneal ulcer or abrasion going on just to be on the safe side. The vet will also beable to give an ointment to put on it to keep the pain limited. I hope he gets better soon. Good luck

It sounds like something got into his eye, and now it's hurting really bad. You had better take him to the vet to get it out, and he might need a course of antibiotics in case of infection.

take him to the vet. 7 is not really that old. i have a 7 year old golden retreiver, and she is very healthy and is still full of energy like a puppy. so i think you should either take the pet to the vet, or talk to the vet for advice

hmmm. maybe its allergies from the weather change... there is probably something like an eyelash or bug that he cant get out... if it continues i would suggest going to the vet.
