Golden retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, and German Shepherds are very smart and easy to train. Having said that, I want to include that it is important to socialize all pups with lots of people by the time they are 3 months old, and then socialize with lots of friendly dogs after they've had all of their shots.
Many people like collies, but I don't suggest them for a general request, because collies, especially border collie are VERY intelligent, and need someone who understands how to train them.
IN contrast, the three breeds of dogs that I mentioned above, tend to be very adaptable and forgiving of new owners, especially after they have been well -socialized.

The Dog you talk to the most will listen the best. To decide on what kind of dog you want you should think about what kind of personality "you" have and try to match it with the dog.A lot of times people will acquire a dog that dosent match their personality and end up disatisfied . If you are more of a mellow type do not get a dog that will be hyper.Opposites can attract but to have a friend that has things in common will last much longer.

Well I think any dog can be trained to listen to commands but if you are asking for a personal opinion, my Doberman was the easiest dog that I have ever had to teach. He comes, shakes, plays dead, sits, stays and rolls over. He also opens the fridge (with a towel tied to the handle), gets the paper and plays soccer. Best dog I've ever had and he's not the least bit aggressive because I didn't raise him that way.

Border Collies and other intelligent dogs listen and obey well if trained correctly.
However often these intelligent dogs are too intelligent for their owners.. if not given proper mental stimulation they will become bored and destructive... These smart dogs need JOBS to do... or will look for their own...
Most dogs if they attend Obedience Classes and their owner takes the time to practice at home on a regular basis will listen well... Heck I even have a cat who listens well...

The dog that listens best is one that is well trained. Some breeds of dogs are more difficult to train than others but they all can be well trained. The key is to let the dog know that you are the alpha and what you say goes.

The bet is the shetland sheep dog that is what several dog obedience trainers have always said. I have had several dogs and have found it to be true

Well, it all depends on how well you train it. Our neighbors have a poodle that is trained VERY well, but someone else we know has a poodle that acts like the devil. It really all depends on how you train it.
