Depends upon what country you're in. In the U.S, yes.

Nope. Just check the inside of a church (gorgeous) and the inside of a mosque (entirely void of anything): religious concepts differ, so does the architecture. of course, you try to build a church in Saudi Arabia and you'll be shot dead before you even start. We are a bit more tolerant in the west.
