Hubby and I were cleaning out clutter and I said, "If it's been in boxes for a year, we'll never miss it. Throw it out!" Well, somehow my only family picture of all 8 of my siblings taken when we were all adults ended up in that box! We went back to the junkyard and found the box (this was like 2 mos. later) and the pic of course was ruined. But, again, of course, I was able to get a copy. But still upset me. I look before I throw now!

This question deserves a star. I think everyone can relate. I have thrown several things away but one was very important. When packing to go on a weeks vacation I had purchased a new prescription for my back pain. I had to take one every morning and one as needed. To this day I'm not really sure if they ended up in the trash or if someone that was helping me look through the trash found and kept them. It was too late to get another rx before I left. My doctor called in 10 to the pharmacy where I went and I had to pay BIG bucks out of my pocket (vacation money!) as the insurance had already paid for the other one.
Just one more becasue this is funny.... I was married to a man that worked away weekdays and came home on weekends. He took money with him every Mon. morning. On Sun. evening we went out with friends and I didn't want to carry all my cash with me so I put $200 in my ironing basket. (Yes, we ironed back then) And come Mon. morning (5 a.m.) I totally forgot where I put it! So, he took what we had left between us. (not much!) On Thursday afternoon I ironed and bingo! Truthfully, I never kept up with our ironing (4 kids) and that money could have sat there forever! LOL

Cabbage patch dolls that were in a black plastic trash bag. We were in the process of moving, and I had stuck them in the bag because I had run out of boxes. Someone must have thrown them away because they never made it to the "new" house. We had some really cute ones like the astronaut. Don't know how valuable they would have been - more sentimental, I guess!

Earings!! I went out, bought really nice earrings for my mom's birthday with the gems stones for each of her kids birthdays. It was so expensive. I got home and threw it away as soon as I got in the house without thinking...it was a subconscious thing. I realized it like two days later and was sooo upset!! The trashman already came.

I easily have a tatty previous pair of jeans that ive had a lengthy time period. I wont throw them. They make my bum look extremely constructive. As they get worn i in basic terms decrease them down. Now they are the dimensions of tiny warm pants yet I nonetheless placed on them around the living house and backyard.

it was a ring that my guy bought for me,.though its not that expensive, it's really special to me. i lost it while i was cleaning up our house. i guess i accidentally included it to the tiny bits of trash I've thrown out. it was later of that day that i remembered about the ring,i looked all over for it but it was gone. I even asked my guy if he was playing tricks on me again by keeping the ring but he doesn't. i was so sad and i even tried to look for another ring similar to the one i lost, but unfortunately i was unable to find one.. its 2 years now and still i felt guilty for that incident..anyways, i got a better ring after a couple of months..And sworn to never throw it again or even to remove it from my finger..
this question brought back the memories.. ^___^

I had a really nice white summer skirt that I apparently put in the charity bag by mistake. Still irks me.

My drum kit from when I was like 3. I don't care if it's for kids, it would've been neat to beat some tunes on it.
