if you want to know the literal menaing, i'm sure you can do a better job by opening a dictionary and checking for yourself. if you are in for a subjective meaning then GOD means someone who is above all. HE is someone pure of the limitations of emotions we human beings have, HE can create but was never created, neither can HE be destroyed. HE has not been seen by anyone of us. HE is not bound by limitations of size, shape or form. HE is pure form having any parents, kids or wife, HE is indpendent and is absolutely incomaparable to anything human eyes have seen till date. Don't we address someone really excellent at his job as 'oh! he is God', Hence, GOD is sublime and par excellence. To sense his divinity, just look around and observe the impeccable nature displayed before your eyes and you might just get a hint of who HE is. SUBHAANALLAH!(HE IS PURE)
