No I won't keep religion out of Law Enforcement & Police. And how dare you ask me to do that. I have the freedom to ask, and talk about any topic relating to the correct topic, so nice try trying to tell me what to do.
An explanation of what I am wanting to see people's say, especially from police officers themselves, is why does God chose people to be cops? What is the connection with God's authority and man made laws, and authority? How does God view police officers? How would life be without cops? ETC ETC ETC Now, you can stop being nasty and answer the darn question!

MOM:
Shame you don't know! Do some research. My opinion has been cops are God's eyes watching and protecting us. Cops are selected people that God choses. Not everyone is cut out to be a police officer.

Here's one link: Type in your search...God's reasons for a police officer poem!

Government is mandated by God, as necessary to maintain order in society. God places authority in government and law enforcement so that the rule of government is to be followed as the word of God.

How do we know what God's view of government authority is?

Considering many of the laws we enforce have some grounding in the 12 commandments (not to lie, steal etc.), I suppose God would probably approve of what police officers are doing.

I police with many different types of people, some are very religious, some not at all, and we all do the job more or less the same way.

Maybe you could clarify what you believe God's view is and we could comment on that.

God gave us free will......
Following the 10 commandments prevents us from abusing free will.
We use free will to decide as a society that we want to delegate responsibilities to Policemen to keep us safe.

"God's view of government authority"?

How about "give unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's".

Keep religion OUT of politics and the government, OK?

I wasn't aware that fictional characters from a book had "authority".

God has given us instructions in reguards to authority.

We are subject to authority and all authority is in place through God's permission or sanction.
Romans 13
1LET EVERY person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God's appointment.(A)
2Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them].

3For civil authorities are not a terror to [people of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad behavior. Would you have no dread of him who is in authority? Then do what is right and you will receive his approval and commendation.

4For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should dread him and] be afraid, for he does not bear and wear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant to execute His wrath (punishment, vengeance) on the wrongdoer.

5Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God's wrath and escape punishment, but also as a matter of principle and for the sake of conscience.

6For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service.

7Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.

We are to pray for people in authority and live peaceful lives.
1 Timothy 2
1FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men,
2For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.

3For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior,

We are free, but should use our freedom to live life filled with the Spirit, so that ignorant charges and ill-informed criticisms of foolish persons are silenced.
1 Peter 2
12Conduct yourselves properly (honorably, righteously) among the Gentiles, so that, although they may slander you as evildoers, [yet] they may by witnessing your good deeds [come to] glorify God in the day of inspection [[e]when God shall look upon you wanderers as a pastor or shepherd looks over his flock].

13Be submissive to every human institution and authority for the sake of the Lord, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,

14Or to governors as sent by him to bring vengeance (punishment, justice) to those who do wrong and to encourage those who do good service.

15For it is God's will and intention that by doing right [your good and honest lives] should silence (muzzle, gag) the ignorant charges and ill-informed criticisms of foolish persons.

16[Live] as free people, [yet] without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; but [live at all times] as servants of God.
