If he's only planning to shoot up the school building on the weekends when the only person who might get hurt is the funny-eyed janitor...
Then okay...(you just get detention, or 30 days in jail for that...
It's when you start hurting "people..."
That's what makes me mad...
Shoot the school...
Not the students...
Simple...
(I don't actually recommend either one, but...if you must "snap," better to shoot inanimate objects that don't bleed and leave behind a damaged building rather than a bunch of corpses...which leaves permanent legacy of mentally messed up people...why can't people just use a "super-soaker" watergun, instead of a real one...you would get the satisfaction, avoid the felony, and still come out on top of the idiot jocks that bullied you...know what I mean...kids, today...what are ya' gonna do...?!?)
In the old days...if someone had a beef against someone at school...you would trash their prized souped up car...
Not them...
Get a clue, people...

I guess if I lived somewhere that had no government, or an evil government, and our lives were in danger 24/7 and my 14 year old was in charge of keeping our home and family safe?
My answer was going to be there are no circumstances under which it would be OK to help your 14 year old collect weapons, but then I realized there technically could be a good reason for it...

Its not illegal for a minor to own guns in a lot of states. I'm from the South, where its common for kids to get hunting rifles for their 14th birthday. I will say its NEVER ok to do what the woman you're implying did though. Hunting with dad is one thing.. acquiring handguns and grenades is a completely different thing. Talk about ignoring warning signs...

I just don't get it. That could have been worse than Columbine. I'm glad they are going after the parents. This world is starting to make me sick. Every parent in the world should be forced to see Gus Van Sant's movie Elephant. It was a very low budget film, but I think it can really make people think and maybe pay a little more attention to their children.

My son would never get a gun, I don't approve of them. They promote Violence. I wouldn't give a gun to a 14 year old anyways, even if they are legal to own at 14. Guns are not toys to play with. They do more harm than good in my opinion. If a parent was to give a 14 year old a gun I would talk to him about gun safety. I see no point in giving a child a gun.
My son isn't even allowed to have a toy gun. My son's friend who is 7 put a toy gun to my son's head and went Kapow. He is teaching my son how to be a gangster as well. NOT right. My son is 5 years old. He doesn't need to learn that.

The right to bear arms is problematic at best. If it is OK to own weapons designed exclusively to kill people then it must be OK to arm our children too.
