It's obviously an unsupported format, but is there a software package that will recognise the file extension and run the dvd on my pc?

the dvd CAN'T be read...but why? and is there a way I can load up something that WILL recognise the disc so I can watch it on my pc....or do i have to link my dvd player to the pc and copy it somehow?

Maybe you should go to the website of your operating system and see if they have a new version availible. example for a windows media player the updated version is Windows media player 11 and most people still have version 9. I know with windows the new version is a free dowload.

u might be trap by virus that come with pirated cd ... DVD u r antivirus some time cannot recognite it .... if this happen then u will have to change ur cd drive ....... or may be the CD u r playing cannot be read on ur pc
