I served with many fine troops who preferred the company of "other chaps". Under the military don't ask don't tell policy you have to keep a somewhat low profile but most do not find it too difficult. Indications are that the policy will chance soon to open acceptance. Which is a long time coming. Sorry to say that my wife and I are both veggies. But good luck on your military life.

The U.S. millitary does not like to aknowledge queers. It is in their handbook (was back in 1995 anyway) that a person of homosexual preference cannot be in the military. The last I saw on the news one spokesman said that ( i'm not quotin') if you're gay, fine, but we don't want to know about it.

The military has an equal opporunity / non discrimination policy. This means that anyone can join the military no matter what, gender, race or sexual orientation they are.

Now why would you want to serve with the "yanks" as you call everyone in the US? You hate us and want to invade and try to take back the US, what makes you think we would let you in our military?

Personally I don't care about your sexual orientation, but keep it to yourself and whomever you are with and you would be fine with me.
Just keep away from me would be my rule and no thanks on the night out with you.
