This is why I wouldn't read that book:

11And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. 12That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

13What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

It really doesn't matter how many hours one spends reading any material...be it bible or other. Rather, it is the number of hours one spends putting it's ideals and teachings into practice that counts. So why would a Christian want to put in any amount of time doing what goes directly against what they feel is the true way to be? I think it is fine to read all manner of books be they gospel or fiction as it broadens the mind. I myself will read just about anything. But in the final analysis, simply because I read Harry Potter, it doesn't mean I will begin to believe I can hop on a broomstick and fly off to catch a golden snitch. Nor would I read The God Delusion and give up my faith in Christ, who made me.

Yes,

Everyone should read this book, or something similar like Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris.

I challenge all believers to read one of these books. In my view its impossible for any intelligent rational person and not have serious doubts about their faith. Unfortunately thats probably the reason why believers wont read them, because they actually need to believe in God and are frightened of confronting the prospect of there not being one.

The Bible is the only "science" book mankind needs to read, believe and follow to survive on Earth. All other man made science books should be thrown in a pit and burned.

I have read it, in less than 10 hours. I have also read "The Selfish Gene", "The Extended Phenotype" and "The Blind Watchmaker".

If reading the Bible makes me feel good and causes me to be a better person why would I waste time reading something that might not do those things?
