When you're in the shower, do you leave the water running while you wash, or shut if off? Some say shutting it off saves water, others say it a time waster and you don't really save any water. If you're at a friend's or family's house, do you change your ways to meet theirs?

At home, we rarely stand there under the hot water luxuriating in the sensuality. We wash our bodies rather like washing a car, wet surface, off water, scrub surface, then on water and rinse. Our water bill is one of the lowest in the neighborhood.

When at other people's homes, I try to do things in the same way I have observed them do it. If I noticed that they wiped down the telephone with disinfectant every time they touched it, I'd do the same -- even tho I think that's going a bit too far and would never adopt this practice in my own home. I'm not at MY home, I'm at THEIR home, and as a respectful guest I do things their way.

I leave it running but I really don't lather for very long anyhow. I'm not a morning person so I'm usually in a hurry when I shower. Getting up late is a great water-saver!

when i shower at home, i always leave the water running. but if im at my friend's house, i'd have a quick shower. its just manners. ive had friends who would shower all day long and i realized from then onwards that its only right to make a short one.

Taking 3 minute showers greatly reduced my water bill, but I'm not turning it off to lather. I'd be cold.

I respect their wishes if they would ask that I turn the water off and on during shower to save water.

But when I m at home I leave it on..

It does save water if you shut it off when you lather up. When u r at a frd's house, help them save money in whatever you do.

We have a very small water heater, so we turn it off.
