No they are not. They are not "rare" either. They are less common than males of that color, but they are not rare or infertile.
I have two litters of kittens I am fostering right now, both from ginger females.

That said, it is only irresponsible cat owners that let their cats have kittens, unless you are an avid cat breeder. The chances are some of the kittens that I currently have will be euthanized if they cannot be found homes. There are too many cats and kittens as it is.
They live a longer and better life if they are spayed also. Take good care of your cat so she will be around for a long time. SPAY!

Never assume a cat will be infertile. Rather have the cat checked by a vet, and neutered. If you can't afford the cost of neutering the cat , don't get it.

Unless you breed cats professionally there is absolutely no need to own a cat that is not neutered.

There are far too many feral cats out there because of owners who are unwilling or just too lazy to neuter their animals and unable or unwilling to take care of the hordes of the kittens that result.

Some people don't want to neuter the cat because they think it is somehow cruel to deny the cat's insticts or bad for its health. Contrary to the misinformation and lies out thier, neutering an animal is NOT bad for its health. It is far crueller and worse for it's health to turn a cat into a kitten farm that breeds until it basically dies of exhaustion.

Most ginger/orange cats tend to be male so a female ginger would tend to have recessive genes as they are very rare so stuff like being infertile wouldn't be surprising.

Hi-

There really are enough unwanted cats and kittens in the world because they aren't spayed, Please think about your wanting her to have kittens, Even if you know people that would take the kittens, that would be less people that might get them at a shelter or rescue

Why would you want to bring more kittens into a world where millions of pets are put to sleep every year because nobody wants them?
