I dont know if you are useing windows xp or Vista but either way you can do this from your power setings. I first rght click on the screen and select screen saver useing Vista but i think with xp right clicking may bring up properties and you can go from there i allso think with XP you can select power management from the control panel.
I have Vista and i just click on screen saver as though you were going to select a new scren saver.Once you have that on your monitor look near the bottom and you will see power setting from there you can have your computer do the auto shut down.
