The question is; "How fuzzy is it". All the DVD recorders that are available in the US record in 480 line resolution. Even if it has an HDMI output it is still outputting 480 line resolution that is up converted.

If the "fuzziness" is no worst than what you get when you tune in standard definition channels; then that's what you should expect.

If on the other hand the you are getting a significantly fuzzier image than what you get when you watch 480 line broadcasts, check the following:

Are you recording at the highest speed (lowest number of hours per disk)?

Are you using the best possible type of cable to connect your DVD recorder to the TV?

Best HDMI or DVI
Next Best Component
Not quite as good S-video
Well, better than RF composite
Lowest possible RF coax

If these aren't the issue perhaps you could add the following info:

Model of DVD recorder
Type of signal you are inputting to DVD recorder
Type of cables you are using to connect recorder to TV
How fuzzy is the picture when you use the recorder as a tuner as compared to when you playback your recordings and when you play a commercial DVD?
