This is a crazy world really, one religion says it is okay to commit suicide, one says it is a mortal sin. so who has got to say anyhting here. I just know that what God has given, it is only God has the right to take it away........so commiting a suicide is a sin for me...no place in heaven!!!!

Their are people who complain that no one cares about them, yet those same people give no consideration and when someone comes along and cares, it is simply not enough for the complainer. their are those who complain about no one understands them, yet when some come and try to understand them the one complaining pushes them off. the complainers im talking about most of them are suicidal, you will find no one as selfish as a suicidal person. they basically wont be happy until the whole world bows before them and worships them. that is my opinion

Committing suicide on a religious base will change religion to religion.
As someone who has been there done that, I can tell you suicide is usually an extreme response to depression or depressive episode coming off of mania. It is generally the intense desire for the chaos and pain to stop, not an actual desire to die. You don't care if it will hurt others because you hurt so much that you just want it to stop, no matter what th costs. Being bipolar I just wanted the chaos to stop. I was going slowly insane and I knew it and no one would help me get help. I took the choice away from them.
With this is mind, suicide is "wrong" because these people can be helped. They need support and possibly meds.
I can tell you RIGHT NOW that threatening someone with hell who is suicidal won't do a damn bit of good. Thier thought will be "Even hell has to be better then this".
If someone you know it suicidal GET HELP. Tell thier parents, tell teachers, tell anyone who will freaking listen. 1800SUICIDE. ANYTHING!!!

If someone wants to commit suicide that is their right..

I always encourage those who mention a desire to commit suicide to do it in a way that puts no one else at risk... While it is their right to take their own life it is not their right to take others with them...

I do not believe in the concepts of sin, heaven or deities.... So they do not come into play...

When dealing with a suicidal person I simply give them someone to talk to and listen... Most people who are contemplating suicide are doing it because they feel no one else understands them, by listening rather than talking you show them that someone is listening and understanding... Simply keep them talking and most people will talk themselves out of committing suicide with only a few conversational promptings from you... Things like "Tell me more about ___" or "I understand tell me more."....

God, heaven and hell are man made concepts which exist in the imaginations of adherents only.

There's only ONE downside to suicide and that's the pain caused to the survivors if they're taken by surprise.

Suicide: a permanent solution to a temporary situation.
So if you're gonna do it, leave a detailed note absolving the living from any responsibility.

As an Atheist, I believe that this life is the only one we get. It should be treated as a precious thing. I don't think that it is a sin. After all, if someone wants to end their existence, it is their own business, but only for the right reasons. If someone is dying of a terminal disease and doesn't want to suffer, then I say go for it. If they are an idiot that thinks no one loves them, then they should probably seek professional help.

The problem of suicide is not as simple as black and white, sin or not sin.

Here is a very good web site concerning suicide:

And Radical Islam is not the first group to use suicide as a weapon:

Samson's suicidal destruction of a Philistine temple (as recounted in the Book of Judges)

Of course suicide is a sin. You have the whole world ahead of you and because of a mistake you shouldn't give up your life. To be honest, there were times when i felt like life was not worth it because so much stuff was on my mind..etc.. so i felt like giving up myself. But then i realized that that just shows i'm a coward who can't face my own problems.. lol. so, ya! never give up in life and just face your problems no matter what.
First see why that person is suicidal. It always helps to listen to what they have to say!

The Bible clearly says, there is no sin in Heaven. Suicide, is sin. Because you commit murder, you murder yourself, that is sin. You can't be forgive of sin once your dead. You can't be forgiven of sin, until sin is committed. That would be like placing a person in prison before he does a crime. So, if you murder yourself, you cheat yourself out of the ability to ask for Gods forgiveness, and therefore, will die in sin and face eternal torment in hell.

there has been no evidence that says If a person commits suicide they will go to hell the reason Christians say this is because the word in the ten commandments that says not to kill should say not to take ones life with out just cause or purpose so the word kill in the christian bible the wrong word thus according to Christianity if one kills them self they will still go to heaven when they die

Christians say your bound for hell if you commit suicide. But I heard that if someone commits suicide, then they're not right in their head, like they're sick, and they needed help and went about it the wrong way, so it would wrong to just assume their bound for hell. And I agree with that.
