Nooo! Flea collars REALLY don't work - the fleas have to actually come in to contact with the collar to die, so they just stay away from the neck area. Flea collars usually end up making cats bald around the neck, so I would really take them off the cats.

Flea shampoos also aren't particularly helpful - I bet bathing the cats was fun too!!

Basically, pet store stuff is worthless for flea treatment - stores aren't licensed to sell the appropriate specific flea treatments, their products are just random insecticides really. Don't waste your money.

Pop in to a vets to get some proper flea treatment for your cats. Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate all work well, you just have to make sure it gets on your cat's skin, not their fur. I really recommend getting a decent house spray from a vets too.

Get some Advantage or Frontline for your cats, I have found them to be the best for flea control. I have three dogs and have no flea problem at all.

You need to treat your house, fleas live in carpets, floorboards and sofas, not on the animal!

jul, I swear by a product called, Advantage! My cat is horribly allergic to fleas and Advantage killed the fleas- presto! Advantage is NUMBER ONE! But please do not use any flea killer by Hartz. My vet told me any product from Hartz is incredibly dangerous to cats. (memory loss)
