2 days ago, I tripped and cut my left arm (4 inches long wound). 40 hours later, I decided to get a tetanus shot at the clinic. The doctor asked me to remove the band aid to have a look. At that time, the wound is already dried but not 100% sure. He then asked me to replace the band aid with a new one because its saturated with dried blood. He took a new band aid out of the drawer and open it. He was somewhat clumsy and i can see that he actually touched the sterilized part of the band aid several times before manage to place it on the wound properly.

Should I be worry that the doctor might have actually touched something or someone's else's blood before touching the bandaid and infect me with diseases like Hepatitis or HIV via the wound?

Noooo.
doctors wash their hands after everything trust me.
you have nothing to worry about, plus they wear gloves when dealing with things like that.

Yes, you should. It's sad and unfortunate, but most doctors and nurses do NOT practice proper infection control like they are supposed to. As long as you're a generally healthy person, you probably shouldn't worry. Just keep cleaning your wound like you normally would on a regular basis until it has healed. As for your doctor, from now on insist that he either wash his hands in front of you or uses a hand sanitizer every time he walks into the room with you before touching you. Hospital and doctor acquired infections can kill, especially if you catch something that is antibiotic resistant, such as MRSA. Check out the following website:

I would have asked for a new band aid myself & told the doctor why. I see no point in taking a chance.

Yes i would be worried alittle, but most times doctors wash their hands. You should have said "is that ok, that you are touching it like that"? Or can you get another, be careful, with docotrs they are flat out, and can not look into things some things/

No - what do you think. The doc was trying to help you and you are complaining about his finger. Man - get a clue.
