The back of the hand since it contains the knuckles which will physically hurt more than a palm slap. A palm slap will just make more noise due to its flatter surface but a back-hand slap will hurt more.
In the "teenage" world, there are names for these types of slaps.
Palm slap>> ***** slap
Back-hand slap>> pimp slap

the palm can leave a long lasting stinging sensation that simply won't go away.(My mom always used the palm)

the palm makes great noise when landing on flesh, but for my money the backhand is the way to go. not only does it hurt its also humiliating. whether its disciplining a loved one or breaking a new ho, the back hand is the choice for me.

The back of their hand, because not only do the bones of the knuckles hit you in the face, but it is an insulting sign that they think so low of you that they don't bother to turn their hand to hit you.
