They must have deducted something extra like a uniform maybe??? Are you required to wear one? If you are, then they may have taken that out...so much per each check? I would definitely look at your check stub and see exactly where your money is going. Maybe they are not paying you 7.50 either like they are supposed to be doing.

Look at your pay stub to see what is being withheld. There should be social security and medicare being taken out of your earnings and perhaps state and federal taxes too. But $70 is too low of net pay for 20 hours @7.50.

If they did not provide you with a statement of earnings, ask for one. You have right to one with each paycheque. Dispute anything that is out of the ordinary. Some places deduct too much tax. This will have to be adjusted if that is the case with you.

they take out taxes ( a bunch of them ) ,and depending on where you work they might deduct lunch breaks and even the lunch they serve you ( at my job they used to deduct about 20 bucks every week for lunch meals )

Look, you need to ask your manager what the deal is. Maybe ask one of your fellow workers if it looks right to them. If you don't stand up for yourself in the work world no one else will.
