How many hours will it take to drive from bakersfield, ca to downtown los angeles around 6pm on a weekday?

It takes me about 2-2.5 hrs depending on traffic. Now, that is not counting the whole mess on I-5 right now with the closure. It could take hours more depending on how they are routing traffic. I would suggest going 58 east to the 14 south. It will meet up with the 5 south of the problems. You may also want to check the Cal-Trans web site at http://www.dot.ca.gov/ for the most up to date info. Good luck!!!
