I've been getting bad dreams and nightmares lately. I think it's because of my upcoming surgery in about 2 days.

The dreams and nightmares are always bloody and violent. I know they are, but when i wake up i can't remember most of it. It is usually more than one dream or nightmare per night.

The other night in my nightmare i went on a killing spree of mutated snakes. It was gory. But i'm always have a thrid person view in my dreams. I always watch what happens to me.

In another dream, i was getting raped and murdered. It's very disturbing. In real life i am acutally a very friendly, non-violent person.

Am i stressed out about my surgery? I don't know for sure, all i can say is i'm not worried about the surgery per se, but more worried about being 'knocked out'.

I have this feeling, that i won't wake up again.

Can my dreams also be related to my past, my abusive drunk pot head ex-boyfriend or could it be due to my recent break-up with my true love.

Wow, I think your dreams could be connected to all three of the above.

You may feel OK with your upcoming surgery in your waking life, while suppression major anxiety and fear that is erupting in your dream life.

Snakes are usually a symbol of some deeply held fear. By killing them in your dream, you would be overcoming your fear. Even though it was gory, it amounts to a good thing.

The rape and murder dream could signify feeling "under attack" in your waking life.

It sounds like you are processing a lot of emotion, fear, and anxiety in your sleep by dreaming.

Good luck with your surgery and hopefully your dreams will stop afterwards.

Yes, it sounds as if you may be reviewing the possible scenarios of your surgery. All of the dreams are violent, and surgery is "invasive", isn't it? Getting raped and murdered puts you in a victim mode, you are not in control, and you could hardly say one is in control during surgery, huh? The killing spree of mutated snakes probably means you want to be in control of the health situation, and the mutated snakes could be a representation of how you feel about the condition for which you are having the surgery. Being "knocked out" is the thing that most people fear about surgery, because one is basically helpless in the situation. Concentrate on how the dreams make you FEEL, and therein will lay the key to uncovering the meanings of them.

Let us keep away the reasoning for all these dreams for the time being till your surgery is over. We will Analise it later. But the reason for getting any dreams (good or bad) is mainly due to your not getting sound sleep. You can sleep for less number of hours but you should have sound sleep.

I suggest you to take Anxite 0.25mg tablets just for these two days to get relieved from anxiety and get good sleep. It is not any sleeping does but it will relax your mind and body. Do not take for more than 2 days. If necessary you can tell your Doctor and take this. Get well soon and then we can see. -

that is probably the most likely scenario. I once heard that your brain take random thoughts from your mind and tries to make sense of them. Your subconscious is probably thinking about the surgery andnow you are having these weird dreams.

All it means is that your sugar level in your blood is very high. Get that in control and you'll be fine. If it is not that, than when you go to sleep try to breath in as slowly & softly, breath out slowly & softly as well.

Your ex is the reason you have these dreams.
He always treats you like your dirt.
He is the person you should confront.
