As a self confessed anti-war activist as stated in your previous posts this has to be the biggest lie you have posted to date!!
By the way my "Time marches on" comment was with reference to an American News programme that was very popular in the 50's and 60's in the USA.
My post also refers to the fact the clock has not stopped moving since the War began hence the age of the conflict.

I think that you hear what you want to hear. What they say is they support the troops. Almost no one supports the invasion at this point.
Honestly I think if they had a draft the very small percent who do support the invasion would have a change of heart.
Supporting the troops became popular when Bush tried to use the troops as a pawn in his invasion. He tried to make it seem like if you did not support his war then you don't support the troops.
In the end he lied to us all so that he could make a huge profit for himself and friends.
The point is now every one knows he lied and is still trying to come up with good reasons and better slogans.
It's time that the every military branch have required reading of the Constitution and the agreements we signed by the UN.
Right now this is a Illegal Iraq Invasion
According to the UN Charter, the U.S. Constitution,
Resolution 1441, and the Nuremberg Charter.
the Iraqi government has a right to make its appeal to the UN, and the ICC would thereby have technical jurisdiction over any war crimes committed during the conflict.
Alert!! Just so you know soldiers may also be convicted. Following orders is no excuse!!!

As a veteran, I'm a bit annoyed by armchair soldiers myself. People as a rule don't like to be told what to do (they'd get over that in the army), and they don't like having their hypocrisy pointed out.
I admire John McCain for saying that George Bush should have asked people to enlist following Sept. 11th, rather than telling them to "go shopping." I have a feeling many of those people would have been angry to have volunteered to go to war against Afghanistan and then been shipped to Iraq.
It's hard to support Bush's handling of the Iraq War. It was malfeasance at best. But, the deed is done. America has to either stand behind the war, or we have to get out. If we do get out, the Middle East will likely destabilize, and we'll be forced into a larger conflict in the very near future.
But, Americans are not known for foresight, so we'll have to see what happens.

I believe people who join the military and sign that dotted line are a special breed of people. I'm not claiming their any better or any worse then anyone but its definitely not every ones cup of tea. Were military and my husband suggests it to alot of people to and we get the same response. I'd rather the people who don't want to do it to stay out if their in the long run gonna watch my husbands back and not to it thoroughly.

People don't like to be told what to do. Also alot of people jump on the band wagon either for or against the war but aren't really willing to do anything about it.
