Well a treadmill might not be the only thing that can make you faster, when it comes to running. This also depends on what events you are running. I run the 100m, 200m, Longjump and Relay. What I do is 3-4 times a week I go running in sand this could be the beach, park, maybe a trail you love for about an hour or 2 miles. I have found doing this, over a peroid of time i have really increased my speed.
Before 13.07 After 12. 56 for my 100m
before 29.43 after 28.17 for my 200m
in all of my events i have improved
I hope this can help you in some way

What distance do you want to sprint fast?

A mile or less distance relies heavily on upper body strength as well as good leg speed. So if that's your question, start pumping the iron, quads, hamstrings, etc.

Simulate running on the track with a treadmill that portrays a track on the front panel. Sprint the straights, jog, walk, recover on the turns. Just like at the track. I suggest 10x100s.

Good Luck

To me it's all in the mind. had a great run this morning because I was really mad after a quarrel with hubby. Otherwise, it helps to keep an image of myself in my head as a fast runner. Try meditation to help you train your brain to focus on an image of yourself as a fast runner.

Assuming that your form is right. It isnt just your calves that give you power. you need to strengthen your qauds and hamstrings as well. Also stretching out will allow for a longer stride.
