chill or chill out, is this a drinking session?

No, not usually. Chillin is just hanging out. I would say "we're just chillin" if I was hanging out with my friends. If I was drinking alcohol with my friends I would just say "we're drinking".

Not necessarily-it just means relaxing, like if someone tells you to "Chill out" when you are upset.
