My friend have found a bomb and a detonator estimated to be from the WW2 by the Japanese military. How will you know if it is still live? how do you dispose it? he is in the jungle and no body can get there to see it. not even the authorities. so please help.

If the items are in such a remote place then how did your buddy contact you? if he can contact you he can report this find to the authorities.

WW2 Ordnance is always to be classed as LIVE if found in location, the fuse does NOT have a lifespan, it can get more unstable with time due to the chemical compounds used in the manufacture of the explosive.

Even the warmth of your hand or movement might be just enough to set this device off!!!

As there are no people in the vicinity the best advise would be to leave it alone, it has not caused any damage since 1945.

As another example World War 1 ordnance is killing and injuring people in France & Belgium, as well as items of WW2 military ordnance.

Don't go near it. Never try to touch it and don't try to move it. Only an expert can answer this question.

World war two bombs are still constantly being found around the world.

THe lifespan expires one second before it detonates.
