We're losing because the whole thing was done without any real plan in place. The dream was that once Saddam Hussein was taken out of power the Iraqis would be dancing for joy and welcoming our troops with flowers and chocolates. Didn't happen. What we really did was to invade Iraq and then try to build a government there along the lines of what we think the Iraqis need.
Another thing is that our President and his squadrons of lackeys knew not one thing about Iraqi culture or about its established religion. Nor did any of our big wigs over there speak one word of Arabic.
War supporters just love war; and wat means lots of money in the pockets of certain "interests" connected to these war supporters. That's the way it is. It was the same in Korea and in Viet Nam. We lost big time in both situations because of our arrogance in thinking that we were saving the world from the dreaded communism.

As someone who invaded Iraq with the 101st Airborne in March of 2003, and is currently deployed in Baghdad, I think I can shed some light on the question.
Short Answer: We're losing because it's not our fight
Long Answer: We're losing the war in Iraq because we are trying to do less and less for Iraq so their government can take over, yet we keep losing soldiers everyday in my area. The fight in Iraq isn't for us to fight. A uniformed military occupation force cannot stop people from placing IED's and EFP's on roads for coalition forces to hit. Sure, we can capture their leaders and intercept some of their weapons as they come in, but that is all. We will gladly fight any force that wishes to fight, but terrorist do not fight. They ambush and run away, and you don't even know which of the 200 people in the area set it off. No technology or military might can defeat this, and this fact is the reason why I will admit we are losing here in Baghdad. I have been to 11 memorials for fallen brothers in my battalion in the last 6 months and seen numerous wounded get sent away. In 90% of the attacks we had no idea who pushed the button that ruined the lives of many. As someone who believes wars are the solution to some situations, as it was with Saddam Houssein, this is the most idiotic thing I would have ever seen myself being forced to do in this Army. The risk is no longer worth the reward, and our mission was complete after the fall of the Baathe party.

Youre regrettably and embarrassingly sick recommended. Even the toddler killing flag burning liberal icon Bob Woodward declared 2 days in the past the "we are certainly not dropping the warfare". How is it that an excellent genius like you comprises your conclusions. First, your assistance isn't even on the point of reality. we've gotten rid of a dictator and assisted the Iraqi human beings in installation a democracy. Did you imagine our own authorities changed into set up in one day? I see you're also clueless in American heritage as well. I served contained in the Gulf contained in the early ninety's. have you ever even been there genius? No, your likely some ignorant extreme college punk or some unemployed loser that receives their information updates off of Aljazera. Get bent Pinko

We are losing because there was never any plans on what to do after the overthrow of the government other than to set up a government and economy that is based on neocon and republican ideals. All that got us is a puppet government that will say and do anything the Bush administration wants as long as they keep paying them to be sycophants. And the economy that they set up has produced nothing but profit for foreigners and 60% unemployment for the Iraqis.
Another reason that we are losing is that the Bush administration mercenaries, Blackwater, routinely shoot at unarmed and innocent civilians which tend to make them want to become insurgents.

wow you are really quite the expert, damn shame you aren't running this Country.
1. Shut the hell up about something you know nothing about
2. Move to some nice place like North Korea or actually move to Iraq so you can learn to appreciate what we are doing over there instead of buying into all of that crap the liberals are trying to sell.
3. Stop watching so much CNN
4. Buy some Ex-lax because you are definetely full of it.

Well war is always a lost cause. please tell me who wins when innocent lives are taken?
To be fair, Sanchez would not be saying such things. he was forced to retire because that abugrave(spelling ) situation. and never received his 4th star. so he has some vendettas inside him ... still, we all know the sad truth and we dont need him to confirm the lost cause in Iraq.

We are losing for the simple fact that we did not try one diplomatic measure in Iraq, we had no real plan or even an ideo of what Iraq would be like once we took saddam out of power. Partisan politics is why they can't admit that we are losing in Iraq. Most americans look at it like a football game, even if your team is down you still root for them. Now the sad part is, this isn't a game and every supporter is responsible for countless lives of innocent Iraqi civilians that die each day as the violence continues to grow.

Don't you get tired of repeating yourself troll. If you are so anti-war stop wasting your time here with questions and try to put a real effort into stopping the war.
I'm sorry you regret your military service if you are unhappy I suggest moving.

Its your opinion that the war is being lost, many more people think the war is progressing fine and dandy considering the limitation to act placed upon the troops on the ground.
