Hello!
I am trying to get information on frequent flier programs and would love any information, suggestions or tips anyone could provide! I always hear people talking about them and figure I should join in and take advantage! I usually just fly with whoever is cheapest and probably only fly once or twice a year. I'm trying to get enough for a honeymoon in a year!
THANKS!

Credit card that offers "reward miles" is a good way to see the miles accumulate. Best airline, would be the one you'd see yourself taking a free flight on!

If you only fly once or twice a year, you are not a frequent flier.

You would not be able to earn enough points for anything in a year.

Frequent fliers fly weekly, and often several times a week.

If you only fly once or twice a year, your best bet is to get a credit card linked to a frequent flyer program.

Some credit card companies are linked with particular airlines, while others have their own frequent flyer programs where you accumulate points for every dollar spent on your card, which you can then use to "pay" for your flight on any airline. Other times, the credit card company may offer a choice of transferring your points to a particular airline partner or using points in their own schemes.

It would usually be a requirement that to transfer points from your credit card company to a particular airline that you join that airlines frquent flyer program. Sometimes, but NOT always, these are free to join. It can depend on residency / tax laws of your home country. Airline frquent flyer programs that operate domestically are typically free to join, but SOME international programs are free to foreign travellers but cost a joining fee for citizens of the airlines home country due to tax laws.

I usually make 1 international trip a year (return) and 2 or 3 domestic return trips, so I hardly consider myself a frequent flyer, however, I use my credit card for just about ALL of my purchases, from petrol to the phone bill to a chocolate bar. Then. every month my credit card company transfers the points earned to my frequent flyer membership with Qantas. It is amazing how quickly it adds up. A word of caution though, you have to be EXTREMELY disciplined and pay off the credit card bill every month though. I know that can be difficult, but I find it works for me.

I have found the Qantas frequent flyer program good value. Between my points earned through my credit card, and the points earned by flying I have earned enough points to get a return trip from Australia to Europe and Australia to Singapore in about 2 years. Also, they have heaps of partners, such as hotels , car renatl companies, phone companies etc that are linked to them when you purchase products from those companies as well. The choices, obviuosly will be dictated to you by what is available where you live, and the airlines available to you on your chosen routes.

Good luck.

i might could say fly usually? lol Or, each and every so often you need to purchase them...perhaps placed a placed up on right here which you're eager to purchase some form somebody. i think of a great fee may well be a penny in step with mile. they're going to make funds on the miles, and you're nonetheless paying decrease than in case you had to purchase a ordinary plane fee ticket. Have a great holiday & good luck!
