look the "prophecies" have been fulfilled many times throughout history in many different events that have nothing to do with anything, they are so vague that anything could be a sign of "rapture"

Not every prophet is of God.
There are two sources of spiritual enlightenment.
1. God
2. The Occult
John received "the Revelation of Jesus Christ"
It outlines 1 Things past 2. Present (at the time of writing) and 3 Things to come.
Nostrodamus looked into a mirror in a darkened room and contacted "familiar spirits" Satan and his demons do not know the future but can only guess at the interpretation of real prophecy that God has given. Nostrodamus' prophecies are vague, and obscure telling us very little. they are not 100% true and fulfilled, which is the requirement of a prophet of God (Leviticus)
The prophecies of God are written from outside of time and are sure. Many in our era have already been fulfilled.
1. Israel return to the land.
2. Jews making desert bloom
3. Capture of Jerusalem.
4. Rise of European power.(United Europe)
5. 200 million strong army in the East.
There are many more....Google fulfilled prophecies.
360 prophecies were fulfilled in the first Incarnation of Christ
which gives us surety that all that is prophecied about the end times will come to pass, and soon.
Read books and articles by Thomas Ice, Hal Lindsay, Grant Jeffrey, Dwight Pentecost, Arnold Fruchtenbaum, Chuck Missler. The Web is filled with free downloads, MP3s, videos, articles and ebooks many free. They are not prophets but commentators on prophecy ...they explain prophecy.
Go to FirefightersforChrist.org, BelieversChapel.com,
sermonaudio.com. preachtheword.com and many many others.
Google "Bible prophecy", it is plentiful and you will see that Nostrodamus cannot compete with the living GOD.

Its not just about now or then. Because God is of the present past or future then he is giving a whole perspective to the person who is reciving the prophecy. More like prophecy is the past ( This is what happened ) Present (this is what I seeing is happening and future This is what I am going to do. See God can see from all sides of the picture the master plan. So revelation is about what happened, and what is going to happen. Jesus is still going to return to the earth it hasn't happened yet!

Bhavishya Puran, a sacred book written in India 2200 years back, describes every major event that took place in this country. It describes even the names of kings, religious leaders places etc with slight variations.Like the king Aurangzeb is written Navarang, Shivaji as Sewajai, Humanyu as Homayo and Queen Victoria as Queen Vikatawati. It is in Sanskrit. Unfortunately, adequate research and cognizance has not been given by world scholars to Bhavishya Puran.

Apocalyptic literature is a broad field, and there is little difference in style, or technique. The difference lies in the content, and the theme of Revelation is life after death. ND introduced no new concept. He's like a weather man. You don't need a weather man, to tell you which way the wind is blowing....

"They" (John) was not writing about things happening now. Most of what he wrote about has already happened. There may be a minute amount of current events and a small amount of unfulfilled prophecy, yet to happen. The Book covers all of time in the Christian Era.
See http://www.lulu.com/content/1115302 for more on this subject.

If some crazy ex-prisoner who gouged his own eyes out were to write some kind of 'way out there' text nowadays, the text would never hold up. The writer would be considered either a drug addict or just some crazy idiot.

The Book of Revelation describes the great tribulation of the earliest church and the demise of the Roman empire. It is a done deal.

All of the prophesies of the Old Testament were fulfilled. All of the prophesies of the New Testaments are in the process of fulfillment. The difference is, that not all the prophesies of Nostradamus were fulfilled.
