why is people so prejudicial about islam?

i found a lot stuff on yahoo answers that quoted the q'uran and it said stuff about killing and stuff like that, saying that islam required people to kill to spread the religion but no one ever talks about how much violence theres on the bible and in the bible theres at least just as much stuff like that and people just interpret it a different way, so it pisses me off that when its something that says on the bible or the torah people just ignore it but when they talk about islam its always negative.
i went to catholic school but im dont believe in any religion, religions dont unite people anymore theyre just the foundation of more hate and racism. am i the only one who sees this? i respect people who believe in god but y do some people think they have the authority to say my religion is better than urs? y do people attack islam and say that its just a violent religion when the torah and the bible r full of the same violent stuff?

did anyone read wat i wrote? did any of u read the bible ? the old testament? its says kill too, religions were made by men NOT GOD

simple reply to all the posts above me, if Christians are so peaceful and Muslims are so evil then why are your Christian brethren killing my People in Iraq ? is waging war against a country that has done nothing to you and killing 1 MILLION of it's people Peaceful to you ? Those killings that you mention in iraq, why do you lie and say ''islamic terrorists'', do you know who's doing these crimes ?? the AL QAEDA that your army dragged with them when they invaded iraq, an organization which had NOT been in iraq before the U.S decided to send it's army there. Btw Iraq was a secular state before all this bullsh*t was started by the U.S, so don't blame islam about those deaths in iraq blame the people who caused these deaths by dragging those dirty al qaeda to iraq (U.S Government)

Muslims stone women!! Do they stone men too??? Muslims will kill if you don't convert to their religion. Muslims teach that there are multiple wives in heaven!! There is no such thing! Heaven is a spiritual place with spiritual creatures! What do you think you're going to do, go find a backroom somewhere in heaven and have sex with 17 wives???

What about all the suicide bombers, going to London, U.S.A., Poland, Africa, etc., and blowing up buildings and innocent people. What about 9-1-1??? Who does that???

It is a false religion and there are so many false religions, even most American religions are false! Most, not all, but in terms of why I hate the Muslamic faith is because of the reasons above. The Old testament has a lot more violence than the Qu'ran although it is also a more ambiguous book with a lot more contradictions.

Islam has been the cause of a lot of violence lately and most of the Islamic world has yet to start the transition to a post-religious society that much of the west is well on the way to completing.

But imagine, for a moment, if your family member or friend were blown apart in a bomb explosion or if your child were murdered just like in the Beslan Hostage crisis? After that if people come and preach that all people are not bad and this religion is about peace, will you be ready to listen to all that?

It is easy to sermonise. Why were many people celebrating when the Taliban were destroying the Buddha Statues in Afghanistan?

Honestly, people don't care of what is there in the teaching and how peaceful certain people are. I have seen a lot of terrorist acts with my eyes (Mumbai Serial Train Bomb Blasts) and when I hear question like you asked, I feel that some people know the truth yet behave like Saints.

I have seen blood, severed limbs, smell of burning flesh etc.. I don't think that anyone would need to have any prejudice about anything. Fact remains a fact, although you might want to call it a prejudice.

Personally I am against the War in Iraq!

Christianity uses the Holy Spirit to draw people to Christ.
Christ preached peace and love, to turn the other cheek, love our enemies etc. I cannot answer for USA in Iraq. I'm not American.
USA has a policy of seperation of Church and State therefore it Government and army are NOT christian.

Islam spread by the sword and in the koran it teaches Holy War(Jihad), which is not a concept of the Bible.

In the Koran I believe in Sura 9 :6 or thereabouts, teaches to conquer the infidel and convert him to Islam. If he resists and does not convert, then slaughter them. This is the teaching of the koran.

Islamic law says that nations must be offered a chance to join Islam before war can be enacted upon them, otherwise Allah will not bless the war. recently the president of Iran was in the USA and invited the west to join Islam or suffer the consequences. A letter recently from 109 Islamic scholars was sent to the Pope, Archbishop of Canterbury and leaders of Christian denominations demanding peace be made with Islam. There have been letters to Western leaders for the past few months inviting them to join Islam, it is not a friendly invitation. This is the prelude to war....JIHAD and God help us if we lose...in any area. Pakistan has the Islamic Bomb (Nuclear) and has shared it with Saudi Arabia. If Jihad comes into effect all arab countries will receive it.

Remember Chechniya, Bosnia, Herzgovania ? In one of these places only thousands of Muslims were killed.

Dear buddy it is becoz of the propaganda and well designed USA stratetegy .


It is the media which showed today's terrorists as the LIBERATOR before the fall of USSR.

Even the movies like RAMBO and many others of James Bond showed these terrorists as their friends and fought together against so called evil empire of USSR.

Now suddenly these friends and Mujahidins turned terrorists just after the fall of USSR.

The question is WHY ?

Now the USSR was no more any enemy since it lost the superpower status and was no more a threat to USA.

It was a fact that USA could lead the world just becoz of the USSR threat which now vanished.

The USA could also lose the world leadership status hence what to do ?

Suddenly they saw an opporunity in the Mujahidins who were theire freinds a little while ago. They started their campaign against these Mujahidins so that the world can be reunited against these Muslim terrorists UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF USA.

They succeeded.........

Now the USA had re-established it 's leadership by scaring the world community off but during the process the Muslims were given a very dirty image by the west propaganda which has been stuck into the hearts of Westerners.

Anyone that is prejudicial about islam is un educated or just ignorant. Islam is not a violent religion that is just what the American media and fanatics want you to think. It is much easier to kill your enemy if you make them not human.

No where in Quran or the Hadith is it allowed to kill people without any reason. The quran says "Take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus does He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.” (al-An’am 6:151)". The Sharia (Islamic law - Quran and Hadith) demands justice to be done to everyone, even non-muslims - “Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice. Excellent is that which Allah instructs you. Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing.” (Quran 4:58). Those people who kill others like barabarians and call themselves as muslims are misleading the whole world. If you want to know something about islam you should study it yourself with an unbiased mind. After all if Islam was so barbaric you wouldn't have so many muslims in the world now you know. The shariah orders muslims to protect the right of non-muslims as well. The one thing called jizya or non- muslim tax is to provide protection in return to the non-muslims who are not to be forced to accept islam - "Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects Taghut (evil) and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trust worthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. " (Qur'an 2:256)". And as far as war is concerned - "Fight against those who fight against you in the way of Allah, but do not transgress, for Allah does not love transgressors. " (Qur'an 2.192). War is allowed ONLY AND ONLY in defence or to end oppresion.
I don't know why people keep saying that islam encorages barabic behavior when it doesn't.

Please read all of this, it is important that you understand where I stand.

It is the mindset that I see often that makes me prejudiced, I would love to be accepting to all of them, but some of them believe their way is the only way.. A lot of those that think that, wish to impose such beliefs on the rest of us as they think it is the best solution to all of our problems.

Now, there are quite a few Muslims who are completely opposite, they feel it is the best way for themselves, and perhaps it would be best for all of us and do not wish to enforce it.

The sad fact is, when I go on youtube, and see the message spread by Muslims and not the news.. their message is often illustrated that they want to have the entire world to believe as they do..

This is why I am prejudiced, I hate it.. I don't like being prejudiced, I like having a meeting ground where all people can conform a little to have a slight melting pot, but it seems with these particular Muslims we can't.

I think that most of the Muslims on Y!A are great, they do not fit that profile and accept them with open arms.. I think they are intelligent and open minded enough to know we all have differences and are not against such differences. It is from youtube, and other sites where the messages from elitist Muslims push me to the prejudice.

The thing is the bible does not tell us to go out and use deceit, murder, torture, permit the rape of women captives, and call on us to use war to spread the word of God by those means. It does not tell us to torture or demand that everyone submit to it or else be killed. I am not saying that these things have not taken place by people claiming to be Christians, I am saying it does not advocate and tell us we should do these things, like Islam does. Yes the torah and bible have violence in them but they do not tell us to go and do these things in order to show you believe and are faithful to God. Islam does, and Mohammad used violence, rape, murder of innocent people just because they did not agree with him. Jesus never did anything like that. The only time he showed anger was when he drove the sellers and so on out of the temple. That is why Islam is such a violent religion. It teaches and advocates the use of such cruel and evil methods, and instructs Muslims to mistreat Jews, Christians and people of other faiths.
