Same as said above. The chances of him getting hurt, especially the national guard, and in that job, are just as good as him driving down to wal-mart and picking up some milk and driving back. The national guard doesn't exactly get the warzone sectors of Iraq, and even if he did get a shitty sector, he would not be outside the wire unless he's chosen to be the commander's driver or something. Be suspicious of any "war stories" you hear from NBC guys in the national guard lol.

There is always a chance if a person joins the service that they could be injured or even killed in action but like the other Gentleman said, he will probably be ok if he goes over there, just support him 100%, Good luck to the both of you!

There is always the chance that someone will be killed when deployed to any country, but you need to not think about it. I am a military wife and there is the same risk that my husband could be killed at home through an accident. When your numbers up, it's up no matter where you are at the time.

The same as if he were to walk in front of a bus, drive a car, go for a walk, go to work, hell...even getting up.
And, how do you KNOW he is going Downrange? Does he have Orders yet? I doubt it if he's basically just Joining.
Sounds like someone is .... well, never mind.

before you plan his furneral being in the national guard ,unless his unit is activated ,he won't be going to iraq, however if he should be in a unit thats going, he will be in a rear unit, like a suppy unit, his mos is combat support,so he'll be alright.
