I believe in predestination because it says in the Bible (see that answer further up). But I don't believe that predestination goes to the smallest point of whether or not I'm going to answer a question on Yahoo Answers: I don't think its that clear cut.
And I also believe in free will. God's side of the bargain is predestination: ours is free will. So its not use pontificating about whether or not we're predestined or not: we just need to respond to God in the way we see fit.

If we are predestined then does that make God a murderer when he makes and predestines murderers? If he predestines people's lives and deliberately makes people crippled, ill or disfigured in any way then surely he is not a good God! So.....I hope and pray the answer to that question is NO.

I am not sure if this is what you are asking but here goes;
Ephesians 1:4-6; For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.
Ephesians 1:11; In Him we were chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.
Romans 8:29-30; For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those he justified, He also glorified.

If everything is predestined, then it would logically follow that God is powerless to change destiny. Conversely, if God is all powerful, then he can't know everything until he's made his final decision. I think He's waiting on you, to make up your mind. Do it quickly, the entire cosmos is holding it's breath...

God "lived" the entire human race in His infinte mind before He even created us. He therefore knows everything about each one of us. But that is not the same as predestining us.

I depends on your point of reference. We know from the bible that God is not limited by time and sees all things, past present and future. In that respect He knows all our destinies. However we live day to day and only prophesy can give us a glimse of the future. We don't know our future so we don't know who will and will not be saved. Because God is a just God He wants everyone to be given the opportunity to accept eternal life. In order to do this He needs people to do that for Him, hence Jesus gave us the great commission. We are pre-destined but the keys to that knowledge of "who" are pre-destined, are kept by God.
The big problem is, that some people think that if everyone is pre-destined then once he/she is saved then they just sit back and take it easy. That is a sure sign that the people concerned are unlikely to be saved as the Holy Spirit in us will create that inner desire to tell others about Jesus, in our own unique way. That is called the fruits of the Spirit. That is the only sure sign that someone is a child of God....Jesus said "by their fruits you will know them". Don't make the fatel mistake in believing someone who claims they are a Christian because they speak in tongues, heal the sick, preach or even run a church.

No. Not even true Christians believe that as Christians say "If you do that you will go to hell" - if there was predestination then there would be no options on Heaven or Hell people could do what they want and still go to heaven.

Only in the sense that He is omniscient and knows what is going to happen. But not in the sense that you have no real choice. You do. You can choose Christ and spend eternity with God, or you can choose not to choose and spend eternity separated from God. It's still on you, not God.

Predestination is the same religious mumbo-jumbo as karma. People with limited knowledge seeking meaning for random events, or to pacify their guilt over the choices they make.
