No way! I was always paid between 8-12 per hour. If you're working for 11 hours I would accept no less than $80-90. (Especially for 4 kids!)
I think it depends on if all of the kids are awake too. Like if you got there at 5 and the kids all went to bed at 8, I would charge a little less for the time when the kids were sleeping.
This could vary by region though I live in the Seattle area. I think age is a factor too, young teenagers probably get paid a little less than say 18-20 year olds.

Well, you are asking the right person, because I have 4 children I pay there granny on there father side. $220.00 every 2weeks b/c her son is sorry and he don't pay child support so she don't charge me as much. I'm so thankful. I believe your getting paid a good amount $40.00 a day is like $280.00 a week, that's almost $300.00 a week .The 11&10year old I'm sure they are watching themselves in a way with supervision Are you keeping the older kids 1/2 a day because of school right. The hardest job would be the 2 smallest kids. And if your keeping the infant on occasions. Then, I believe that's good, now are you providing food for them. You have to consider many things is it a family member or a friend?

NO! You are doing more than double the work (especially with an infant). Decide what you are willing to take and then explain to her that with the additional children you can't do it for any less than that. She should have offered you more already on her own, however, if you don't speak up, don't expect her to.
She is getting a steal of a deal. I would think 8 to 10 dollars an hour is fair.

I don't think that you would be incapable of being a good mother at this point, but even the most mature person still has much change coming to them. I was always told as a teen that I was very mature for my age, but whenever I compare who I was then to who I am now, the change is almost unbelievable. Also, it is very true that all pregnancies are different, but for me it has been so hard to keep up with school(college) during my pregnancy because I have been SO tired constantly and sick part of the time as well. Not to mention that pregnancy WILL affect your moods lol. You seem as if you are smart and capable of making your own decision(with your boyfriend), but just make sure you consider all sides of the situation before you make your choice. Good luck! Ps-I am not questioning your relationship with your boyfriend, but please keep in mind that if you two were to break up when you have a child together, this can complicate things for everyone involved. So, if I were you, I would wait until I was completely ready to spend the rest of my life with him and we were married. Again, just my opinion.

No $40 a nite its not enough as she now has an extra two children I'd would want to be paid more , but she may not be able to afford to pay you anymore then she already is, the best thing would be to sit down with her and come to a figure you both can agree on which will keep you happy and she keeps her sitter:)
Goodluck

That's only like 3.63 an hour!!!! OUTRAGEOUS! How much are their kids worth to them??? Sometimes I would babysit kids for such low pay only for people I was close to or I knew couldn't afford anything else...but I definately wouldn't have done it for that repeatedly....not to even bring into question that the # of kids has increased. I would most def. ask for a bit more...unless these are people close to you, or you know they can't go higher, or you don't need more money. But if you need this money, tell them you charge at LEAST $5.00 an hour (That's still BELOW minimum wage, and for 3 kids!!!)Still a GREAT deal for them!

That works out to a little more than $4.00 an hour. And no, that's crazy. But then again, you couldn't pay me enough to take care of somebody else's 4 kids! My daughter in law works at a daycare, and people pay $1000 per mo. for each child. I know private people usually don't charge by each child, but you should raise your rates. Inflation!

no way,, you are charging way to cheap, in VA I pay 8 dollars per hour per my 1 yr old daughter, they pay baby sitters that take care of 3 kids $350 dollars, the one who is 7 and the 8th month old are the responsibility so I would say ask for $60 per night at least, if she doesnt pay u that,, quit,, u r a slave,, do you want to work for me?

I am not sure of your age, but this is too many children for anyone who is not an adult to manage on their own. The rate of pay is poor at under $4 per hour, and the whole arrangement if not illegal (which it may ne) is certainly not a good deal for you

I think that deal's pretty fair because I mean it's an 8 year old month baby and it doesn't now not to scream and fight for food and changing. So, You should payed maybe a bit more money for your responsable work.
