Why is it that when speaking of the other nationalities, we describe them as follows: Blacks (African AMERICANS), Mexicans (Latin AMERICANS), Asians (Asian AMERICANS), Indians (Native AMERICANS), Arabs (Arab AMERICANS), Whites (Caucasian) huh? Please, why are whites just caucasian? Im sorry, but I earned my right as an American, I gave 6 years of my life in defending this country in the Military. Well, I guess we are called "Wetto", "Honkey", "White Boy", "Cracker", "Whitey", and any other name other than American. Somebody please help me out on this one. All Nationalities welcomed please.

I agree that all of this political correct labeling is out of control. My agency had a hiring mandate to promote African-American candidates after some EEO complaint. An officer from Egypt (check your maps it in Africa) was told he was not eligible to apply for the announcement. Of course an Officer from the West Indies was promoted under the same announcement (check your map, not in Africa).

Or I always like the story of the high school that had an African-American poetry contest. A student originally from South Africa entered the contest and won. When he showed up to claim the prize they denied him because he is white. They gave the prize to someone else. He sued based on the fact that he was the only student in the contest who was actually from Africa and based on how they announced it he was eligible. I hope he won.

Everyone wants us to be the same, yet we strive to label everyone into different groups. My family lineage may be from Europe, but I am not a European-American. I have never been to Europe, I am American.

Studies show that College diversity programs are actually making incoming freshman more polarized after the programs. My favorite in college was when we had a unity initiative and a diversity initiative running at the same time. WTF people, can we get this straight?

I am African American but I don’t agree with that even though that is politically correct!

I am not African, because I have never been to Africa! But it is pretty obvious that I have ancestors that have been, but I have ancestors from Guinea (S.A.) and England so… would I be Caucasoid-Latin-African-American ?

Only when it said in spite is it a bad thing, otherwise it is a politically correct was of referring to someone by terms created by the majority.

I think calling someone “black” and “white” are the most racist things someone could do but as a country we have come to use it that everyone calls those described people “black” or “white”; then all otherpeople are called their respected ethnicities!

Because the illiberal mainstream media describes people based on their race or ethnicity because they look at people's differences instead of their similarities. This is true except when they're talking about illegal aliens, then everyone is suddenly an American.

White's don't get this same treatment because they're not a minority. Therefore the mainstream media which is part of the Democrat establishment, does everything it can to exclude whites.

How come blacks are called African Americans and not American Africans?

It's politically correct. In canada, they're asian-canadians, african-canadians, etc. Just because it ends with -american doesn't mean nothing excpet they're not native to America. With the exception of the native americans. Actually, you too should be called european-American since you're lineage actually dates back to europe.

btw, everybody form south america are latin americans, even if they're not in america.

You have a nationality but its not "White." White is not a nationality, you can say Italian American, Irish American, French American, English American, but you really can't say "White American." What does that mean? Your american but you or your grandparents come from"white" also?? It doesnt make sence. People who like to remember and/or have a feeling about where they or their parents came from use those phrases. It doesnt mean they have any less feeling for the USA.

I AGREE...we are all Americans first... our loyalty should be first to our country, our flag and our God.....every person should be proud of where they came from, they should want to celebrate some of their traditions, but they should always try to blend in with AMERICAN TRADITIONS! but even more so to becoming a legal citizen you are a American whether your African ,Arab, white or whatever....

You can call what ever you want just for the hack of it. Hey, the thing is the immigrant in their self just think that they are Mexican, Arbi, Pakistani, Indian, Australian. Unless they have adopted some other nationality for bad. And in your question, ....you write the rest.

IF YOUR ARE A U.S. CITIZEN, YOU ARE AN AMERICAN.........
YOU ARE NOT MEXICAN-AMERICAN, AFRICAN-AMERICAN, CHINESE-AMERICAN, ARAB-AMERICAN, ETC.
THE ONLY PEOPLE WITH THAT RIGHT ARE THE AMERICAN INDIANS. ONLY BECAUSE THEY WERE HERE BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!.
It is a good thing to have pride in your heritage. But--
YOU ARE AN AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND ONLY IF YOU ARE A LEGAL CITIZEN OF THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
