This is the website for the nail caps. When you cut the nails, which needs to be done weekly, just clip the little hook off the end, don't go too short. I used a spray bottle to train my cats and make sure they have alternatives, like scratching posts and mine also have a disc, with scratcher in the middle and a ball in a track to play with around it. I baited the the scratchers with cat nip to attract them. Now, they don't scratch anywhere except on those. Best of luck
ADD: It isn't necessary to bath cats unless they get into something that really dirties them up. They are very efficient at cleaning themselves. Some people do like to bathe them, for showing, etc, and some cats even don't mind, but if your cat hates it that badly, it probably isn't worth it.

Quit bathing your cat so much!! Cats rarely need baths. Only if they stink, get into something, or have fleas do I ever bathe my cat! You will strip all the natural oils out if his coat and he will have dry skin!! Just brush him everyday. If you want to keep him squeaky clean get those bath wipes they sell. That way you can clean the cat without getting the cat completely submerged in water and soap. If fleas are a problem get him some frontline from your vet. Get your cat one or two scratching posts and set them in different areas of the house. Keep a water spray bottle around. If you catch him scratching something he's not supposed to be scratching spray him once. They hate this. When and if you have to bathe him. Have everything ready and at arms reach. Hold his front paws with one hand and wash and rinse with the other. If you have control of the front paws you have basically total control of the cat. He might still try to jump, but he's not going too far if he have his front paws. Oh, they make cat nail cutters. Cat's claws are clear. I've never seen a cat whose claws wasn't clear. When you cut them don't get too close to or cut the pink part!! That is flesh and will hurt and bleed. Just cut the nail "clear" part!

Um first off your kitten needs its claws if u are having it a out side cat thats its only defence. And when they scratch alout thats in their nature to sharpen and shed their nails!! If it was an indoor cat and only kept in door its ok to declaw them. But even then its not hard to teach them to keep their claws in thier paws when its a little older If u have no time for for teaching ur cat at least give it a better home so some can propualy take care of it!!!!!!!!!!! And u need to get a scratching post of course!!! In time when a dog and cat plays the cat wont use its claws any more and if ur dog is wanting to attack it why the hell arnt u keeping the cat and dog seperated till they get the use to each other with one behinde doors or ur dog on the leash and train ur dog to be nice!! not that hard FYI IT WILL DIE IF U LET IT GO WERE EVER FOR ITS JUST A KITTEN!!

Unless your cat is getting flea baths, there is no reason to bathe it once a week.

As for the claws, you can go to PetCo or PetSmart and get caps for his nails. I wouldn't recommend trimming his nails, as the reason they scratch is to "shed" their nails, not sharpened them. Cutting the ends off, doesn't help them shed their nails.

You can get special pheromone spray that will help get your cat to scratch only where you want him to. And do not declaw your cat. It would be like you cutting off all your fingers at the knuckle before your nail. At this point, he has learned how to use his paw with that part, and taking it off is pointless amputation. A good vet will try and talk you out of declawing.

You should get a spray bottle. Every time it scratches spray him with water. It works for all cats. Oh and unless its a long haired cat and goes out side dont wash them. U dont have to
