Yellow one is eight months old, black one is six months old. They were both rescues at four months old so I have no idea of background. thanks

The smaller black one looks like it is mostly Austrailian cattle Dog. The larger of the two looks very similar to what they call a Cur in the south. Do you live in the south? A Cur is not an actual breed of dog. It's a combination of many dogs to create a farm style, hog hunting dog. It's also possible the yellow dog is Shepherd and Lab mix. Hope that helps!

The TRI COLOR one is commonly known as a RAT TERRIER...aka Mountain Feist
GOOGLE both names.....
A mountain feist is a type of dog. Like the lurcher, it is not a specific breed but a "Type".
The Mountain Feist was created in suburban southern North America. It is a good hunting dog, and a good companion dog. This is not a breed, but a type. It is usually a mix between a terrier and a hound, and is usually mistaken for a rat terrier or a jack russell terrier. A long dog (not a widely used expression) is a cross between two sight hounds. Mainly used as a squirrel dog, they are also good in hunting raccoons and tracking larger game.

I would be pretty certain that the yellow/tan dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and she looks as though she might have some lab in her as well. If you lived in Australia, I might have suggested that she has some dingo in her as well, but as you live in the US it's probably not too likely! We have a woman down the road from us who's got a couple of dingo crosses and they look remarkably similar.
The other does look like a rat terrier...there looks like there might be cattle dog/heeler in there as well.
Really, it's anyone's guess. They're both nice looking dogs regardless of what they are :o)

It kind of looks like Beagle mixed with a Blue Heeler. The other one kind of looks like a lab mix...but the dark ring around the eyes...could have a bit of chow in him.

they look like mix breed. but the one(black) also looks like a type of herding dog i saw in the dog show from England. never have seen them here though.maybe reseach that, also had same markings. or a corgie mix. the other looks like a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. They sure are beautiful. thats my guess. i found it
