Word not only has a spell-check, but also has an easy way to look up definitions (just right click the word and choose look-up).

It is also easy to use on-line dictionaries. Webster's (m-w.com) and Dictionary....com are great sites with both a thesaurus and dictionary (see below for website addresses).

We still have the reference books handy incase the computer is down.

Is this an either/or kind of question? I prefer spell check, but generally don't need it as I know how to spell. I find it very annoying that some people have so little consideration for others that they make you wade through crap that is so hard to read because they choose not to spell correctly.
