I hide veggies in other foods. For example, I put shredded carrots and spinach in meatloaf, cauliflower in mashed potatoes, and a myriad of veggies in soups (pureed and otherwise). And if that still doesn't work, then I use the "no-thank-you-taste" rule. My daughter has to take at least one bite of everything on her plate- she doesn't have to like it, she just has to try it. Your son will balk at first, but be consist ant and he'll come around eventually. Kids go through food phases, don't worry about it. It's all about providing and modeling healthy eating habits for your children. It will show in the long run. Good luck!

My son is almost the same age, and he is VERY picky. He never was picky until he turned 2. All my son wants to eat is grapes, raisins, and chicken nuggets. What I do is give him a healthy meal, and if he refuses to eat it, I will NOT give him anything else. He gets mad, but after awhile he gets hungry and eats what he's supposed to. Then I reward him with his favorites for dessert. It's getting better now. He usually eats his meals, and asks for his snacks afterwards. I think he's finally understanding that those things are treats and not survival food. Good luck.

Since it seems he likes meat try pureeing carrots or even broccolli and adding it to meatloaf so he can't even see it. I have this same problem with my almost 2 year old daughter and have had many converstaions with her doctor about it. He should probably be getting a daily vitamin. Dr told me half a flinstones. Also, my daughter loves shepards pie( hamburg, corn, mashed potatoes) so she gets a lot of corn. And if nothing works just keep feeding him what you know he'll eat. Atleast hes getting food and hes only 2. Eventually he will want to eat more things.

I just saw Jessica Seinfeld, Jerry Seinfeld's wife, on the Today Show a couple of days ago, and she just wrote a book about how to hide vegetables in food that children will love. She had a lot of good ideas for recipes that will appeal to children. The book just came out and it looks like she has some great ideas.

Don't offer anything else. If he is hungry enough he will eat the fruit and veggies. Sausage, bacon and chicken nuggets are full of fat so they should not be offered more than a couple of times per week.

If they are hungry enough they will eat it. Just buy a few for him to try, and maybe don't offer it til he sees you eating it. Reverse psychology works well. My granddaughter loves them all now, maybe with a little Ranch Dressing on the veggies, give him his own dip cup so he can do it and maybe a little whipped cream on the fruit!

Try mashing the veg all together, then pipe it onto a baking tray with a star nozzle on a piping bag then put it into the oven until the outside goes golden brown and crispy. Lovely - and he won't recognise it as veg. Failing that - let him get involved in the preparation of the food, he may take an interest and begin to want to try it. Good luck!

Here is a link to the Oprah website with the book Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld. It might help.

That is kinda tough it sounds like you are doing the right thing. just keep offering different fruits and veggies.
try making it fun when you serve carrots give him a little ranch. or when you have celery do ants on a log that is peanut butter on it with rasins.

There's also a book called The Sneaky Chef. She gives you ways to hide veggies in anything.
